Whats Up Wednesday

Wednesday, June 29, 2016

It's Wednesday and I'm on day 2 of Camp Gladiator and I am worn out, y'all. I haven't worked out this hard like, ever. It's SO challenging but I am having fun with it! Any and all prayers for my soreness to go away are welcome. #help #icantwalk

This is how I feel today...

I'm linking up with Shay today for What's up Wednesday! Here's what we've been up to :)
P.S. Have y'all seen Shay's new site?? I LOVE it!! It looks great, lady!

What we're eating this week...
Monday Blake cooked chicken, rice and green peas for dinner. The simplest meal in the world but it's one of our favorites! Tonight is taco night!

This question makes me think I should start planning our meals better because I have no idea what we are having for the rest of the week!

What I'm reminiscing about...
6 months ago on Sunday/Monday I was in labor for 30+ hours and then finally had Judah! I cannot believe it's already been 6 months. Cue all the tears...

What I'm loving...
This is super random but I'm loving my wife Birkenstocks. I'm obsessed with them! I wear them all. the. time. They go with everything and are so comfy! Here's a few pics of me in them.

You can get them here.

What we've been up to...
Birthdays, lots of church events, family visits, all of our fav things! Weekend Recaps from this month are hereherehere, and here!

What I'm dreading...
Judah has to get his 6 month shots next week and I'm not looking forward to it :( I can't stand how sad he gets!!

What I'm working on...
My health/fitness! I'm trying really hard to make better food choices and implement Whole30 cooking when we are home. I'm doing Camp Gladiator every M/W/F at 5:30am to try and tone this post-baby body up! I've never had a problem with being fit and in-shape until I had Judah so it's been hard on me. I'm starting to feel comfortable in my new skin though!

What I'm excited about...
We have some family that has rented a cabin on Lake Travis for next month and I'm so excited for them to come visit! They haven't met Judah yet so I'm excited for that :)

What I'm watching/reading...
We are almost 100% caught up on Scandal and my heart is so torn of Olivia right now...girl is cray. Also my favorite show ever is back on and I'm so happy! I've loved Real Housewives of Orange County since the first season aired and I still love it and I'm still #TeamVicki

We've been watching lots of The Bachelorette, too! I love JoJo and I am #TeamJordan and also #TeamJordansHair

What I'm listening to...
I've been listening to a lot of podcasts lately! Lots from Elevation Church and The Village Church.

What I'm wearing...
Pre-pregnancy jeans, y'all. Like all of them, every pair. They fit again and I could cry from excitement.
This new scarf from Nordstrom Rack. I wore it twice last weekend...oops!
& workout clothes. All day, everyday.

What I'm doing this weekend...
It's 4th of July weekend and we have zero plans and I'm kind of sad about it :( Normally we would spend the day at Blake's Grandparents house in the pool or we would be hosting all our friends at our house and then go to the same firework show I've gone to my entire life...this year is different because we are away from all of that so my heart is kind of sad! I'm excited to make new memories here though! If you're from the Austin area let me know where to go for a good firework show :)

What I'm looking forward to next month...
We have birthday parties, baby showers, family visits and just enjoying summertime with our little baby!!

What else is new...
We have officially started a Disney Fund Jar. The Kelch's are planning on a Disney trip soon!! Disney is my favorite place in the whole world, y'all...I'm not kidding. I'm such a kid at heart and I still love all the Disney movies/princesses. Judah won't remember it at all but Blake and I will and we are so excited!

Also linking up with Jessi!

Weekend Recap | Blake's Birthday Edition

Sunday, June 26, 2016

So, it's Monday. I start Camp Gladiator today at 5:30 am and I'm so excited but also nervous for it! I haven't worked out in years and have only worked out a little after having Judah and I'm pretty positive I'm going to throw up and never want to go again, but we'll see!! Haha!

This weekend was all about celebrating my sweet husband because he turned 24 on Friday! It was his golden birthday so it was a special one :)

He works so hard for our family and so deserved to be celebrated! I love him more than he knows.

FRIDAY
I woke up early and made Blake his favorite breakfast, biscuits with homemade sausage gravy! Some of the students from our old Youth Group were camping near us and wanted to come surprise him for his birthday so they came over and hung out for a few hours and we so enjoyed it! I totally forgot to take any pictures though :( #fail

I got these balloons at Hobby Lobby and hung them up the night before so he would see it when he woke up! Golden balloons for a golden birthday :)

We ate lunch at one of his favorite places, Chipotle!

I had planned for two of our dear friends from back home to drive and surprise him for his birthday. The had a wedding on Saturday about 2 hours from where we live so it worked out perfectly for them to come surprise him for his birthday! They showed up at our house right before we were leaving to go to Top Golf! He was surprised :)

We celebrated him at Top Golf that night with friends, old and new! Even my parents came. We had so much fun!
Love this birthday boy :)

Us with one of our friends who surprised Blake, Liz!

I won wife of the year award because I made Blake a geofilter on Snapchat for his birthday! Everyone loved it!
(My Snapchat is elishakelch. Feel free to follow me!!)

All of our sweet friends/family that came to celebrate Blake.

SATURDAY
We had a lazy Saturday, y'all! We hung out at the house and grilled burgers and just rested! Our church had a Night of Worship and Mission that night and Blake was singing and I was taking photos for it!

I snapped this pic of my hubs. I love how much he loves Jesus!

SUNDAY
We went to church and I snapped a quick picture of my outfit because I realized I basically wore the same exact thing Friday. Whoops!!

We had lunch with my parents before the headed back home. We are always so sad to see them go!

Judah loves his Nana!!

This is what our normal Sunday afternoons look like...

He woke up and we ran errands and he surprised me and took me to get FroYo. It's the little things :)

Now we are in bed and I'm dreading waking up at 4:45 am...send all the prayers, y'all.

Happy Monday!!

Show & Tell Tuesday | Pets

Tuesday, June 21, 2016

It's Tuesday and I'm linking up with Andrea for Show & Tell Tuesday! It's all about pets today!

When I was little I had cows, chickens, horses, goats, rabbit and dogs! I considered them all my pets. When we moved to the city we obviously didn't take them with us ;)

Funny story about the chickens, I was out feeding them with my aunt one day and they started to chase me and I have been afraid of them ever since!

I had two dogs growing up that were some weird mix of chihuahua and something else, Annie and her puppy Gracie Lou. Annie passed away a few years ago and Gracie Lou is getting pretty old too! Gracie is still at my parents house and Blake and I currently have no pets.

We want to eventually get a dog but deciding on one is going to be so hard. He likes small dogs and I like big dogs!

I love golden doodles. They are my favorite! I mean look at how cute they are. I have Blake halfway convinced on a cute little doodle but he still thinks even the toy ones are too big!

I also have a sweet spot for French Bulldogs. They are one of the only little dogs I would have! I love their pointy ears! I think they look so classy.

Lastly, Golden Retrievers. I have heard nothing but great things about them being the best family dogs ever!! Every golden retriever I have met I loved. They are so sweet and cute :)

Those are my top three pet picks!! What's your favorite pet??

Weekend Recap | Fathers Day Edition

Monday, June 20, 2016

Happy Monday, y'all! My hubs left super early for work this morning and I can never fall back asleep after he leaves so I see a lot of coffee in my future today.

We had a great weekend celebrating Blake with family and we didn't want the weekend to end!

FRIDAY

I started Friday off with watching my friends kiddos for a few hours! They are the sweetest boys and I loved that my house was full of boys! I just have a feeling Blake and I will have all boys, even though we desperately wasn't a girl, so it was fun to see a little glimpse into our possible future :)

Blake's grandparents arrived and we had lunch at Trudys! So yummy!

We ran some errands and just hungout at the house!

SATURDAY

We had a fun morning of shopping and eating brunch. Judah is the best shopping buddy :)

Annnnd, Judah had his first taste of watermelon! He LOVED it!!!

We had dinner reservations for that night at Vince Young's Steakhouse to celebrate Blake's first Father's Day and his birthday (early!). I took a picture of my dress for the night because I love it! The colors are my favorite.

The food was SO good. The best steak I have ever had. It's a little expensive but worth it! If you're ever in Austin, try it out!
Gig Em in front of the Longhorn bc Aggies ;)
Love these guys!!

SUNDAY

We woke up and went to church and we were so excited to celebrate this guy all day! We love Dada :) He is the best Dad to Judah and the best husband to me. He is selfless, works hard for us, loves us and leads us! We are blessed by him daily and so thankful for him!

We had shoe shiners come to the church for Father's Day to shine all the Dad's shoes! Judah was waiting his turn ;)

I also snapped a picture of my dress because flowers and bright colors are my fav! (Whoops! My shoes were already off!! Haha!)

After church we headed about an hour away to family's house to cookout and visit! Judah rode in his first little car and I almost cried because of how big he looked. I can't take it.
Goofy dada :)

That was our weekend! It's Blake's birthday week and I can't wait to celebrate him! We are starting it off with our normal Bachelorette viewing party with our friends! Who are your favorites?? I love Jordan and Luke!!

Fruit Loop Treats

Tuesday, June 14, 2016

Everyone loves a good rice crispy treat right?? Well, the hubs and I were watching my favorite, Pioneer Woman the other day and she made these yummies! Blake immediately asked me to make him some so we went to the store and got the goods and I whipped these up in no time!

Literally all you need besides butter, cooking spray and salt!
Melt the white marshmallows and resist drooling...
Add in the fruit loops and mix!
Tip: Spray your mixing spoon with cooking spray to avoid a big, clumpy, sticky mess!
Add in the rainbow marshmallows and mix again.
Press into a pan that you've lined with butter and let cool until they are set!
Once they're cooled, melt the white chocolate and drizzle on top.
 B was a happy guy!
 Yummy Fruit Loop Treats!!
