Whats Up Wednesday

Wednesday, March 30, 2016

I'm so excited to be joining Shay, Sheaffer, and Mel for their Whats Up Wednesday link-up! I'm also linking up with Jessi for What's Hap-Pinning Wednesday!

What we're eating this week...
Monday was taco night! Tonight I'm making a Southwest Chicken Bake. And y'all...I most definitely do not have Thursday or Friday's meals planned out except for Judah's...milk with a side of milk ;)

What I'm reminiscing about...
2 years ago today B asked me to marry him, and duh, I said YES! The proposal beats all proposal stories I've heard, maybe I'm biased, but y'all, he did a really good job planning it and executing it. I'll be sharing it with you guys tomorrow :)

What I'm loving...
My sewing machine! I made Judah a little onesie for his first egg hunt and I think for my very first try it turned out pretty good! It's super messy, but my mom and I decided to call it "Shabby Chic" haha! Practice makes perfect right??

What we've been up to...
We celebrated this guys 2 month birthday! Read about that here.

We helped out with DNOW back in Denton!

We celebrated Easter and it was even more special this year with our little guy!

My parents even came into town to be with us for Easter!

Judah celebrated his first Resurrection Sunday!

What I'm dreading...
Blake is going out of town for a weekend in April and I'm totally not looking forward to missing him :( I'm such a wimp when it comes to being away from him...I know, sappy stuff!

What I'm working on...
I'm thinking about starting the Whole 30 diet. If any of you have any advice I would love to hear it! All helpful tips are welcome!!

What I'm excited about...
Taking a cat nap when B gets home from work. I know, SO exciting! This is the second time I have been sick in the past month and it's totally draining me.

What I'm watching/reading...
I've started going through my Savor Devotional again and I love it just as much as I did the first time.

We finished Parenthood, and I cried...a lot. We just started watching Scandal and we are HOOKED! #iwanttobeoliviapope

What I'm listening to...
My baby snore and coo and try to laugh and talk! All of his little sounds warm my heart :)

What I'm wearing...
My go-to travel outfit. A comfy poncho and leggings!

A paci on my shirt because #momlife.

My new favorite pixie pants from Old Navy. They are so soft and stretchy! LOVE!

Oh, and my baby ;) I recently made a DIY Moby wrap and I'm in love.

What I'm doing this weekend...
For once, we have zero plans for this weekend besides our usual busy Sunday. I'm looking forward to some REST!

What I'm looking forward to next month...
Our church is hosting a parenting conference one weekend this month and B and I are so excited to attend! We are also starting something called "Life Groups" this month with our church. We are getting paired up with people who are in the same stage of life as us and picking a time once a week to meet and do a Bible Study lining up with a sermon series our Pastor is preaching on this month. We are SO looking forward to building community with these people!

What else is new...
I think I've just about covered it all :)

What's my best spring cleaning tip...
Make a list!!! I'm totally a list maker and there is just something about crossing things off of said list that makes you feel like you really accomplished something! Last year we made and list and it worked out great!!

What's Hap-"Pinning" Wednesday

Wednesday, March 16, 2016

Today I'm linking up with Jessi and Monica sharing some of my favorite Pins lately!

Easter is right around the corner and I have been swooning over all the cute baby boy outfits for Easter! #givemeallthemonogramsandbunnies

I've also been getting some inspiration for my own Easter outfit. I'm loving floral's for Spring! I'm not sure if I want a maxi dress or not. I love these two!

But I'm also loving these!

Call me crazy, but I'm a crazy planner and I already have Judah's first birthday planned out! I started a board recently with lots of fun different birthday party ideas for the years to come! I love this train themed party!

How cute is this baseball themed party! I love it.

Lastly, I've been looking into Pure Barre a lot lately. I found some workouts I could try at home! LOVE!!

That's all for this Wednesday!

If you could all say a prayer for my family and my grandpa as he has not been given much more time. Blake, Judah and I headed down to East Texas to come see him late last night and are spending a few days with him. Prayers for peace and comfort during this time are so much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Friday Favorites | Life Lately Edition

Thursday, March 10, 2016

Praise The Lord, it's Friday! I'm linking up with Andrea, KarliApril and Amanda for some Friday Favs!
Side note - Can we just talk about how Olivia was my favorite on the first night?? I totally loved her and wanted her to win. (Or maybe I just had serious hair envy) I definitely think that production had something to do with making her seem crazy...poor girl. I thought she seemed very genuine during The Women Tell All.

It has been a tough couple of days. Judah got his 2 months shots on Wednesday and that was not my or his favorite :( He really did take it like a champ and I think I cried more than him.
Yesterday he was so clingy and snugly, which I did not mind one bit! His cuddles are my favorite.

"Mama, just snuggle with me!!"

Of course, bubba. I could do this all day.

Last night, Judah spit up on me twice in like 5 minutes. I hate when he spits up because most of the time he is feeling fine so I have no clue as to why he spit up. I feel so bad for my bubbas!

We had DNOW back at our old church in Denton last weekend and it was a blast. Super busy and exhausting but hey, that's DNOW weekend!!

This guys smiles are my favorite. They never get old :)
Look at his little grin! Those cheeks! I can't get enough!

I made homemade enchiladas on Monday and they were a BIG hit! Blake said that they were possibly the best thing I have ever cooked. Almost 2 years into marriage and he's finally found his favorite thing for me to cook. FINALLY, y'all! I'll be sharing the recipe soon!

Judah giving his first "Gig Em!!!" is definitely a favorite!

If you missed Judah's 2 month update you can find it here. These guys are my favorite.

I'm so excited to announce that I am teaming up with So Damsel on some fun projects! They have great prices, high quality clothes and they are cute y'all!
This shirt is perfect! I can't wait to get mine in the mail.
And this romper! I die. SO cute.
I can't forget about these booties. I love them!
I'm so excited about teaming up with them and don't forget to click here to shop these looks!

That's all for this Friday! We are excited for the weekend and hopefully some sunshine!! I hope you all have the best weekend ever.

What's Hap-"Pinning" Wednesday

Wednesday, March 9, 2016

Today I'm linking up with Jessi and Monica sharing some of my "Pinspiration" lately!

It's totally starting to feel like spring! Temps are getting warmer, the rain and storms are picking up, and I have all the heart eyes for all things pastel. Spring is my second favorite season, Fall/Winter being the first.

I love me some bright, spring-y, flowers, y'all.

Tulips in buckets and cute tins make for such fun and bright spring decor! I'm definitely going to be using these ideas this spring!

I also love spring fashion. Pastels, floral print, pretty dresses and sandals. I love it all.

Floral print kimonos and floral print pants. LOVE!

I want a pretty, bright skirt like these so bad! I love the look of a skirt. I also love that floral print dress. #givemeallthefloralprints

I love these simple and effortless, yet put together, looks. I love a good white pant like in 2 and 4. And can we talk about how good a simple white top, paired with jeans and wedges/sandals looks?? Love.

Show & Tell Tuesday | Hometown Edition

Tuesday, March 8, 2016

Today I'm linking up with Andrea and we are talking all about our Hometowns! I never know what to say when people ask me "Where are you from??". I always have 3 answers...

My first answer is always Cushing, TX. An extremely small town in east Texas. The population is somewhere around 608, and there is one blinking stoplight in town. Pretty  much the only thing Cushing is known for is the small, but very yummy, cafe in downtown called 7th Street.

I lived in Cushing from the time I was born until I was about 6. #checkouthosecurls

I have a lot of memories of playing on my Grandparents land there, feeding the chickens, horses, cows and goats, waking up to the rooster crowing on the front porch every morning (no, I'm not kidding), and so much more. My whole family lived there, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and siblings. A lot of my family has moved, mostly to the Dallas area, and others close by. I still have a few siblings that live close to Cushing, my grandpa still lives there, and my Aunt does too. We visit often.

My second answer is always, Lake Dallas. When I was around 6 years old, my family moved to the Dallas area, Lake Dallas to be more specific. This is where I grew up and where I have the majority of my memories. The population there is somewhere around 7,000+. This was a BIG change from the small town we were use to! We grew to love it. This is what I consider my real hometown!!

This is where I made so many memories, all mostly good! I had the time of my life in high school here. My high school experience was one of the best. Sure, there were awkward times, but I really did have so much fun!

I made some of the best friends here. We don't all keep in touch anymore, but I have some of the best memories of my life growing up with them!

Some of my very best friends still live in my hometown! #imissyouguys

Lake Dallas is a football town. It's huge and the whole town comes to the games.

I spent my Friday nights at the games too, in my white boots and sparkly skirt.

I was on the dance/drill team all throughout high school. My life pretty much revolved around dance all 4 years. It was much like a sisterhood! When I think of my hometown so many memories from those 4 years come to mind.

I also found an incredible church family here. God blessed me so much with all the people there that mentored me, held me accountable, and taught me. We still, to this day, miss them all dearly, but love where God has called us to now! #pleasedontmakefunofmysunglasses #iwas17

My hometown is also where I met and fell in love with this handsome guy!

It's where we got engaged.

Where we got married.

Where we lived in our very first house together.

And where we started our family.

Now, my third (and sometimes first) answer is Austin, TX. This is where we are planting our roots.

This is the first time we have lived our own, away from family.

Where my belly grew BIG! #okayikindamissit

Our first baby was born here!

This is where The Lord has called us and where we feel like we will be for a long, long time. It's crazy to me to think that this is where our sweet baby will say that is his hometown. I hope he loves it just as much as we do!

I had so much fun sharing my hometown(s) with you guys! Have a happy Tuesday, y'all! :)
