Friday Favorites

Happy, rainy, Friday! Today I'm linking up with AndreaErika, and Narci for Friday Favorites!

We started this Friday off by being woken up multiple times with flash flood warnings and tornado warnings. I love rain, but when it starts to flood or bring tornadoes, I get a little bit nervous. So this is what my morning has looked like!
Drinking coffee out of my hubs cup, (because mine was too far back in the cabinet
and I couldn't reach) with my eyes glued to the news. If you need me today, this is where I'll be.

Now, here's a super random list of my favorites for this Friday!

On Wednesday we had our Trunk or Treat at the church and it was so fun!! We decided on doing Winnie the Pooh, and of course, with my big belly, I was Pooh :) Blake was Christopher Robin and our friend Casey was Eeyore! We did all of this last minute and it turned out so cute!

This trunk was my favorite though! I thought it was so cute and creative.

This guy has been on a cooking kick lately! The other day he made homemade, from scratch, cheese crackers! He's been cooking up a storm in our kitchen this week and that's my favorite. He's a much better cook than he gives himself credit for!

Cupcakes are always my favorite, but this week I have been craving cupcakes so bad. Blake came home last night after band practice with these and I could've cried. I only have a little bit longer that I can say these are what Judah wants so momma gets them :) Also, the pumpkin spice cupcakes...go get some. They are so good. Definitely my favorite.

Y'all, look at these little jeans. Blake's grandparents got this cute little outfit for Judah and I died over the little jeans. They're so tiny and cute and I can't wait to put him in them! Also, can we talk about how folding baby clothes is so much more fun than folding Blake & I's clothes! It's definitely my favorite right now.

Excuse me while I cry. This guy is my favorite, so is the little guy in my belly. Blake likes to "snuggle" with Judah. He will lay his head on my belly like this and Judah moves right over to Blake's face and just kicks and kicks. It's so sweet and Blake loves it :) This little guy loves his daddy so much already, I can just tell! Anytime Blake talks to him or touches my belly, Judah goes crazy in my belly. So, so sweet :)

That's all for this weeks Friday Favorites! I hope you guys have the best weekend and a happy Halloween!

Whats up Wednesday

Wednesday, October 28, 2015

I'm so excited to be joining ShaySheaffer, and Mel for their Whats Up Wednesday link-up!

What we're eating this week:

Monday Blake made a yummy dinner of balsamic chicken, mashed potatoes and broccoli/green peas! Then to top that off, he made delicious blooming apples with a scoop of Bluebell on top. Last night I made homemade pizza! I'll be sharing this recipe on my foodie blog soon, once I perfect it :) Tonight we are having our Trunk or Treat at our church and have to be there early to set our trunk up! (Pictures coming soon) They are having food there so we will eat whatever they have. As for the rest of the week, we probably won't decide till the day of :)

What I'm reminiscing about:

I was looking through old pictures and came across these of Blake and I last year at the pumpkin patch! It's so cool to look at these pictures of us as newlyweds, and now this year I have a little pumpkin in my belly! Bring on all the emotions...

I'm also reminiscing about our Halloween costumes from the past couple of years! We really love to dress up for Halloween and always make our costumes.

Two years ago we were caveman & cavewoman.

Last year we were Rapunzel & Flynn Rider!

What I'm loving:

If you don't already know, we are apart of a ministry here in Austin called Continuum Ministries. It's a college/young adult gathering that meets every Tuesday night at 9pm. We meet together and worship and dig into God's Word. It has been such a blessing being apart of this ministry so far and we have loved seeing the fruit come from it already! Last night we baptized three people! It was such an awesome experience and we are so blessed to be apart of it.

If you're in the Austin area and are free on Tuesday nights, come check us out! We would love to have you :)

What we've been up to:

We have been crafting a lot this week to get ready for our Trunk or Treat! Here's a little hint of what we are going to be going as this year...

What I'm dreading:

This weather. I'm ready for it to actually feel like fall around here! I need the highs to be in the low 60's. Come on, ATX. Get with it.

What I'm working on:

We have been kicking things into gear and getting Judah's nursery ready! Read yesterdays post here to see some pictures of it so far.

What I'm excited about:

We have another baby shower coming up in a few weeks which means we get to travel back to Denton and see family & friends! I'm pretty excited about that. Also I'll be taking maternity pictures that weekend and that's pretty exciting :)

What I'm watching/reading:

I just started watching Parenthood today! I always hear people talk about how good it is so I decided to find out of myself! It's pretty good so far. My parents also got Blake and I hooked on another show on Netflix called Longmire. We are already on season 4 and almost finished with it...oops.

All I have been reading lately is my Bible! I am still going through the studies with She Reads Truth. I recently read Jen Hatmakers book For the Love and I really enjoyed it. I really love the way she writes! She is so engaging and very funny. Go pick up a copy and read it, especially you momma's out there!

What I'm listening to:

I don't listen to much music by choice, so whatever Blake puts on is what I listen to! Most of the time it's him playing the guitar, I know, so dreamy :)

What I'm wearing:

Right now, sweatpants and a t-shirt, because this belly of mine is getting bigger everyday and sweatpants are more comfortable than anything else :) But when we have to go out, I'm loving pulling out my scarves (even though it's not that cold yet) and pairing them with a tunic or a tank and my favorite chambray shirt! That's about as dressed up as I get these days.

What I'm doing this weekend:

Saturday we are going to our friends house and spending Halloween trick-or-treating with them and their littles! Then Sunday we have church. I'm hoping to get more of Judah's nursery done as well!

What I'm looking forward to next month:

I'm not the biggest fan of Thanksgiving food, but I love spending the holiday with family! We will travel back to Denton for Thanksgiving and then after that I won't be allowed to travel until after the baby is born. So I'm really looking forward to going and spending that time with family and then having them come stay with us in December! Oh, and how could I forget! I'm so looking forward to decorating for Christmas, the day after Thanksgiving of course.

What else is new:

I think I've just about covered it all!

What's your favorite Thanksgiving recipe:

Mmmm, my momma's apple pie recipe is my favorite. It's all from scratch and I'll be making it soon and sharing it on my foodie blog!

That's what's up with us this Wednesday! Can't wait for next month :)

Make it a great day!

30 Weeks

Tuesday, October 27, 2015

Hey, y'all! We are 30 weeks this week with our sweet Judah Beau! He is measuring around 15-17 inches and probably weighs around 3 pounds. He is still kicking like crazy and moves so much all day long. Our doctor said she thinks we may have ourselves a little Olympic swimmer! Momma is healthy and so is baby. We can't wait to meet our little guy.

We are beginning to get everything ready just in case he decides to show up before he is supposed to. Blake's grandparents sent us home this past weekend with so many necessities that we hadn't got yet! We now have our car seat and stroller and are so excited about it! It was like Christmas :)

We decided to go with the Baby Jogger City Mini Single - 4 for our stroller. We loved it in the store and can't wait to see how it works out for us! (You have to purchase an adaptor for the car seat, totally easy to put on and take off, we went with this one.)

We decided on the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio. This was the number one recommended at Buy Buy Baby, and we love it so far! We will see how it works out for us once he's here though :) It has the top safety ratings and that's why we picked it!

Now for a little bumpdate.

How far along? 30 Weeks & 1 day.

Sleep? It's getting harder and harder to sleep and be comfortable at all really. I wake up constantly throughout the night, tossing and turning and trying to find a comfortable side to sleep on. I'm so glad that Blake is a pretty heavy sleeper because if not I'm sure I would be waking him up with all my tossing and turning! He's such a good sport though and if I wake up feeling sick or anything, he jumps right up and takes such good care of me! He is the best :)

Symptoms? Still quite a bit of pain from my belly growing! Also, back pain is back and worse than before. Really, everything hurts. I just keep reminding myself it's all going to be worth it when I see Judah's face!

Cravings? Ice cream, still. Judah is going to be just like his daddy and l o v e his ice cream. Also, lately I've been craving smoothies! If y'all have any yummy recipes you love, please share them with me!

Miss anything? My energy! The third trimester tiredness has hit me and hit me hard. I always feel exhausted even if I haven't done much. This also makes me miss being able to drink unlimited amounts of coffee! All. Day. Long.

Best part of this last week? We took a short trip back home to see family this past Thursday and came back Saturday. I loved getting to see and spend time with our family and friends! These trips are never long enough and the goodbyes are always hard, but we know we will see them all soon :)

What you're looking forward to: Getting his nursery completely ready and decorated! We have it put together enough, just in case he decides to come early (I'm a planner),
but we still have a lot to do for it to be what I have pictured in my head.
Here's a few little sneak peek pictures for y'all :)

Verse you're leaning on this week:

Oliver & Otis

Saturday, October 17, 2015

Happy Monday y'all! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Ours was pretty good, except the Aggies losing...but we won't talk about that.

Speaking of football, today I'll be talking about a cute little company called Oliver & Otis! They sent me a shirt last Friday just in time to wear for the A&M vs. Alabama game.

How cute is it?? Their shirts are so soft and comfortable! I've heard they just get better each time you wash them.

What I love most about a good graphic tee is how many different ways you can style them! Wear it casually with a good pair of jeans, dress it up with a crochet kimono, or make it even more comfortable with an over sized sweater or chambray shirt! There's so many options when you have a good graphic tee, and I love that!

Here's a few ways I styled this shirt with some pieces from my closet.

I wore it Saturday with this pretty crochet kimono from Altar'd State.

I'm wearing a size medium in the Oliver and Otis shirt, but without my preggie belly I probably would wear a small :) The kimono is a small and true to size!

For the cooler weather games I would probably wear this black cardigan with the shirt and maybe even add a scarf :)

I got this cardigan from Charming Charlie's last year. Here's a few similar ones you could pair with their graphic tees!

Lastly, for a more casual/comfy look, pair it with a chambray shirt!

My chambray shirt is from Old Navy, also purchased last year. There's a similar one here.

Y'all head on over to their website and check out all their cute designs! Order some shirts, you won't regret it :)

Friday Favorites

Friday, October 16, 2015

Happy Friday, y'all! It's the weekend and we've got a fun filled one!

Hopefully tomorrow the house will be officially box free! We got so much unpacked in the first two days, but we still have one box of random stuff that we need to go through and a few things left to hang up on the walls. My goal for tomorrow is to get that done! (Blake doesn't know this yet, surprise!!) Also, A&M plays Alabama, so we will definitely be cheering on the Aggies and wearing our maroon here in Austin!
Sunday Blake is playing at our Night of Worship at our church here in Austin. We are partnering up with Allies Against Slavery ATX & Austin Disaster Relief Network for this night and we are so looking forward to it! If you're in the Austin area you won't want to miss it!

Now for some favorites!

I have missed my coffee so much while pregnant, and with cooler temperatures hopefully around the corner (come on Texas, it's supposed to be fall.), I needed to find a good decaf coffee! This is the best I could find for our little Keurig! It has a pretty good taste, but it's no craft coffee by any means. But it will do for now! Definitely a favorite for this fall/winter!

Y'all, I think I have found my favorite multi-surface cleaner ever. First off, it smells incredible. Second, it cleans so well! We have granite counter tops in our new home and boy do I love them. I love this stuff even more because it keeps those pretty counter tops clean!! I also use it to clean my stove after we cook and it makes cleaning all the excess grease and messiness that I make while cooking so easy. I highly recommend trying this!

So, a favorite of mine is pumpkin bread. Specifically, Starbucks pumpkin bread. I have never tried to make my own pumpkin bread before, simply because my momma and grandma have made it for me every fall :) This year, I decided to try and make my own! I searched Pinterest for an easy pumpkin bread recipe and I'm pretty sure I found the easiest. All you need is 1 box of spice cake mix & 1 can of Pure Pumpkin. (yes, that's all.) You'll combine them (I used my mixer) and the batter will be very thick. Bake at 350 for around 40 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean. SO easy, right?? It tastes pretty great too! Definitely a favorite of my husbands! I made the bread mostly for myself, thinking he wouldn't like it (he's not the biggest pumpkin fan) and he has almost eaten the whole loaf! Y'all have to give it a try!

Another favorite of mine is gel nail polish. I love to have my nails painted, and they almost always are. But I hate when they start to chip! It drives me crazy. Gel nail polish makes you polish last for at least up to two weeks. It can get pretty expensive to visit the nail salon so often, so I have been looking for a good gel top coat for a while now and I found a favorite! I wanted to slurp and buy the Essie brand (I really only wear Essie) but i didn't want to spend the money on it and it not work! So I found this Revlon brand gel top coat (only $6!!!) and it works! I love it. It adds so much shine to your polish and I have been super impressed with how long it lasts. This will definitely work for me since I paint my nails once about every two weeks. But since I'm not the best at painting my nails, I'll probably opt for going to the salon for special occasions :)
Nail Color: Essie "Berry Naughty" great for Fall!!

I started joining the She Reads Truth studies shortly after Blake and I got engaged. The first study I ever did with them was their study on Ruth. What I love about she reads truth is that it is ran/written by women just like you and me. They believe in digging into The Word of God and spending time with Him daily, and they also believe in doing this as a community of women that are all in need of Gods grace and the truths that we read in His word. Right now we are on day 12 of the Philippians study and it's not too late to join! The whole study is online along with SO many others! You can also order their study booklets, cute printables with scripture on them, coffee cups, magnets, notebooks, and so much more! I love their stuff and their studies and I highly recommend checking out this favorite :)

I hope y'all enjoy these favorites & have a great weekend!
