Lets Talk | Guys

Monday, February 29, 2016

Happy Monday, friends! To see my weekend recap post click here.

I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika today for their "Lets Talk" link up. Today is all about the guy(s) in your life! I have a few that I'll be sharing with you :)
First up is my sweet husband, Blake. Blake and I met around 8 years ago at church, but I knew about him before then. He is two years older than me, so when I was in 6th grade and he was in 8th grade, I was going through my yearbook and I did the classic "hearts around his picture" and wrote "hottie" real big above his picture. #noshame

The rest was history. Just kidding! We later met at church. He was the cute boy playing guitar on stage and I was the weird little freshman girl with a BIG crush on him. We were always in the same friend group, we dated other people, confided in each other when things went wrong, prayed for one another, and also had a few moments where we weren't each others biggest fan. I think that all of those years of us being such close friends helped our relationship when we finally started to date. More on that after sharing some fun throwback pictures of us in those oh-so-great high school years!

Here we are at church camp in 2010.

Here we are in another country on a mission trip a year later.

Here we are on another mission trip in 2009 (I think). I'm picking fun at Blake and his lack of arm muscles. So sweet, I know.

And lastly, at prom in 2011! #itwasalittlewindy

I moved away to College Station for school and we stayed friends. I moved back home and then the rest was history.

We started dating a little over a month after I moved home, August of 2014.

Here we are on our very first date!

And on our second date.

We dated for a little over 5 months...

Then, on the perfect March day, he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him, and I said YES!

Then 5 months later, we were hitched. To see more about our wedding click here.

Fast forward 8 months later...

Then 9 months later...

Blake is the most selfless, loving, talented, kind, funny, and thoughtful person I know. I have loved him for a very long time, and each day my love for him grows more than I ever thought it could. We make a great team and I really, truly, don't know how I would get through this crazy life without him. God placed us in each others lives and had a plan laid out for us far before we even thought about each other. I'm forever thankful that He brought me to Blake and that He brought us back together when He did.

My other favorite little guy is our sweet Judah Beau! He has only been on this earth for 8 weeks (today!!) but he has completely stolen our hearts. Oh, how The Lord has blessed us! We love this sweet baby and love watching him grow.

These are my guys and I love them BIG!

Weekend Recap | Baby Dedication Edition

I have my coffee in my hand and I'm ready for you Monday!  This weekend was filled with lots of family, baby loves, and Fuller House!

Friday started off with a good breakfast...well...that was until I dropped it on the ground. Bummer :( Good thing I have a sweet hubs that let me have some of his :)

We cleaned, ran some errands, and enjoyed sweet baby snuggles!

We waited for family to arrive into town then went and had a late dinner at my favorite place. #getthefriedcheese #youwontregretit

Then it was bath time for Judah Beau! We finally got to use his 4moms infant tub and he now LOVES bath time! This is the coolest little baby invention ever. I totally recommend it to mama's of newborns!

Saturday we went to lunch at a local Mexican restaurant with our families and then I got more baby snuggles :)

Then Daddy woke him up and got some playtime in before we left for Judah's Sip & See!

Blake's Grandparents bought Judah this baby-sized arm chair from Target and I think it's safe to say Judah loves it :)

Us ladies and Judah headed to the Sip and See. It was such a fun time with some sweet friends. I'm so thankful to have such wonderful ladies to surround myself with here in Austin! I was so worried about not being able to connect and make friends when we moved here and these ladies all took me in  and treat me like we've been friends forever! My friend, Jaci, hosted the Sip and See and she did such a good job with the decor! Everything was so cute :)

We also had our church's Night of Worship that night. I love seeing my guy do what God created him to do! It was a blessed night.

A Saturday full of fun sure wore Judah out!!

Sunday we dedicated our sweet baby to The Lord in front of our church family. We pray that Judah grows up seeing Gods love through us daily and that one day he will have a heart that loves Jesus more than anything else. We know God has big plans for our sweet baby boy!

Mr. Handsome :) #thatbowtie #thosesuspenders

Our Pastor holding our Judah Beau! We are so thankful for this man.

Our church had around 35 baby's dedicated on Sunday!

I love this sweet family of mine.

We celebrated with lunch at another favorite, Jack Allens Kitchen. The pork tenderloin medallions stuffed with chorizo are the BEST thing there. (aka, the only thing I've actually had, but hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it)

Then we had some big smiles and a quick Target run!

Now we are ending our weekend with coffee, naps, and The Oscars. We are all hoping for a Leo win tonight!

Linking up with Biana today.

Linking up with Narci|Andrea|Erika

It's Friday y'all and this is how I feel about it...

We have a big weekend planned with family arriving later today. We are so excited for this fun and busy weekend to start! Here's some of my favorites from this past week...

This boys BIG smiles are melting my heart. I love this stage he's going through! My favorite so far.

We were shopping around for Judah's dedication outfit and came across this cute outfit. We found something similar to this but I still think this is too cute! I would dress Judah like this every day if the hubs would let me :) Little boy clothes are my fav!

I came across this e-card on Facebook and it made me laugh but I could not agree more! If it weren't for my amazing nurses, my hubs, and my momma I could not have gotten through 31 hours of labor. I wish I would've gotten their names so I could send them a thank you!

Look at these two cuties! Judah has so many little buddies already and it's my favorite! These two are exactly a week apart. How cute is sweet Ellory with her bow on?? Love her :)

My friend, Rachel, texted me a picture of her little boy sleeping in his "snow jacket" that we got him last year. She said he insists on wearing it to bed every night. I love their family and this sweet little boy is one of my favorites!

Baby eyelashes are my favorite! Little Judah Beau started getting his eyelashes and they make his sweet sleeping face even sweeter :)

I'm on a quinoa kick right now. I want to eat it at every meal! I've learned a lot of new ways to mix it with things to make some pretty yummy meals! Yesterday I mixed it with some taco seasoning, black beans, corn, lettuce, cheese, and a little bit of sour cream! It was SO good!! #quinoaismyfav

My view as I write this blog post is my favorite. Coffee and my little love. Times sure have changed but I love them even more now.

What's Up Wednesday

Wednesday, February 24, 2016

I'm so excited to be joining Shay, Sheaffer, and Mel for their Whats Up Wednesday link-up!

What we're eating this week...

Since we have been out of town for a few days, I have nothing planned for us to eat this week (slacking, I know).

Saturday I made Shay's Lemon Bundt Cake and topped it with a homemade raspberry glaze. It was a big hit!

We have also been to Chuys twice in the past week because, #JalapenoRanch.

What I'm reminiscing about...

We got some pictures back from Judah's birth and it's making me miss my baby boy! Yes, he is still a baby, I know. He's just growing SO fast and I just need time to slow down a bit.

What I'm loving...

We recently bought some essential oils to just try out because I have been getting the worst headaches since having Judah and I'm not a big fan of medicine. I noticed a difference the day we brought home the oils/diffuser! Now I'm obsessed. This is also a pretty good alternative to the expensive Young Living brand. What's some of your favorite diffuser combos? I would love to try some out!

What we've been up to...

We have been out of town visiting family since last Thursday and we had a blast.

Judah made himself right at home in his Grandaddy's chair!

We celebrated my brothers birthday!

And of course, went shopping at our favorite place, Target!

What I'm dreading...

Folding all the clothes that are in the dryer...#ilovewashingtheclothes #buthatefoldingthem

What I'm working on...

I'm working on coming up with a good post-baby diet! If any of you have any recommendations I would love to hear them :)

What I'm excited about...
Our family's are coming to visit this weekend and I CAN'T WAIT!! We got to see them last weekend and I'm so exited they are coming to see us this weekend! We've got some big plans :)

What I'm watching/reading...
Watching lots of Parenthood...and crying...a lot.
#ilovetheBravermans

Also, we love The Bachelor around here. Amanda was my fav from the beginning, so I was so sad to see her go! #whyisCailastillthere #byebye

What I'm listening to...

Right now, I'm listening to Rachel Ray make a French Style Tuna Salad...not sure how I feel about that.

What I'm wearing...

Right now, an old t-shirt and comfy Target lounge pants because #stayathomemama

I did some baby wearing this past weekend though and loved it. I'm dying for a Moby or Solly Baby wrap now!

What I'm doing this weekend...
As I said earlier, our family's are coming to visit this weekend! My sweet friend, Jaci, is hosting a sip and see for Judah and I and I'm so excited for that! We also have A Night of Worship at our church Saturday night that we are super excited about! To top off the weekend, Sunday is baby dedication day at our church. We are going to be busy busy!

What I'm looking forward to next month...
Next month we head back to Denton for our old church's DNOW weekend! We are so looking forward to it.

What else is new...

This guy has started smiling BIG this past weekend and he is trying to laugh so bad. I love that gummy smile :)

Bonus Question:
What is your favorite Easter tradition?

We haven't really made any Easter traditions as a family yet, but I know that as Judah gets older we will! I remember as a kid, decorating eggs, cookies, and doing the Resurrection Eater Eggs! What are some tradition's y'all recommend?
