Show & Tell Tuesday | Pets

Tuesday, June 21, 2016

It's Tuesday and I'm linking up with Andrea for Show & Tell Tuesday! It's all about pets today!

When I was little I had cows, chickens, horses, goats, rabbit and dogs! I considered them all my pets. When we moved to the city we obviously didn't take them with us ;)

Funny story about the chickens, I was out feeding them with my aunt one day and they started to chase me and I have been afraid of them ever since!

I had two dogs growing up that were some weird mix of chihuahua and something else, Annie and her puppy Gracie Lou. Annie passed away a few years ago and Gracie Lou is getting pretty old too! Gracie is still at my parents house and Blake and I currently have no pets.

We want to eventually get a dog but deciding on one is going to be so hard. He likes small dogs and I like big dogs!

I love golden doodles. They are my favorite! I mean look at how cute they are. I have Blake halfway convinced on a cute little doodle but he still thinks even the toy ones are too big!

I also have a sweet spot for French Bulldogs. They are one of the only little dogs I would have! I love their pointy ears! I think they look so classy.

Lastly, Golden Retrievers. I have heard nothing but great things about them being the best family dogs ever!! Every golden retriever I have met I loved. They are so sweet and cute :)

Those are my top three pet picks!! What's your favorite pet??

Show & Tell Tuesday | Favorite Vacation

Tuesday, May 24, 2016

I'm linking up with AndreaAndrea today for Show & Tell Tuesday! Today is all about vacations!!
Picking a favorite vacation was so hard! My favorite place in the whole world to visit is Disney World. I'm a kid at heart and still dream of being a Disney Princess at Disney World one day...I love my vacations there but our honeymoon trip tops them all.
A gracious couple in our church gifted us a condo in Breckenridge, Colorado for our honeymoon! I had never been up North so I was so excited to visit and experience it all. I learned on the trip that I love the North. I'm a southern girl through and through, but visiting the North is so nice. Especially Breckenridge.

We adventured around the cute little town, ate way too much really good food, watched Disney movies, went to the top of a mountain, and did so much more! It is my favorite trip we have taken together by far.I wouldn't mind living in Breckenridge when we are old and grey! :)

We are looking forward to going back soon!!

Show & Tell Tuesday | Hometown Edition

Tuesday, March 8, 2016

Today I'm linking up with Andrea and we are talking all about our Hometowns! I never know what to say when people ask me "Where are you from??". I always have 3 answers...

My first answer is always Cushing, TX. An extremely small town in east Texas. The population is somewhere around 608, and there is one blinking stoplight in town. Pretty  much the only thing Cushing is known for is the small, but very yummy, cafe in downtown called 7th Street.

I lived in Cushing from the time I was born until I was about 6. #checkouthosecurls

I have a lot of memories of playing on my Grandparents land there, feeding the chickens, horses, cows and goats, waking up to the rooster crowing on the front porch every morning (no, I'm not kidding), and so much more. My whole family lived there, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and siblings. A lot of my family has moved, mostly to the Dallas area, and others close by. I still have a few siblings that live close to Cushing, my grandpa still lives there, and my Aunt does too. We visit often.

My second answer is always, Lake Dallas. When I was around 6 years old, my family moved to the Dallas area, Lake Dallas to be more specific. This is where I grew up and where I have the majority of my memories. The population there is somewhere around 7,000+. This was a BIG change from the small town we were use to! We grew to love it. This is what I consider my real hometown!!

This is where I made so many memories, all mostly good! I had the time of my life in high school here. My high school experience was one of the best. Sure, there were awkward times, but I really did have so much fun!

I made some of the best friends here. We don't all keep in touch anymore, but I have some of the best memories of my life growing up with them!

Some of my very best friends still live in my hometown! #imissyouguys

Lake Dallas is a football town. It's huge and the whole town comes to the games.

I spent my Friday nights at the games too, in my white boots and sparkly skirt.

I was on the dance/drill team all throughout high school. My life pretty much revolved around dance all 4 years. It was much like a sisterhood! When I think of my hometown so many memories from those 4 years come to mind.

I also found an incredible church family here. God blessed me so much with all the people there that mentored me, held me accountable, and taught me. We still, to this day, miss them all dearly, but love where God has called us to now! #pleasedontmakefunofmysunglasses #iwas17

My hometown is also where I met and fell in love with this handsome guy!

It's where we got engaged.

Where we got married.

Where we lived in our very first house together.

And where we started our family.

Now, my third (and sometimes first) answer is Austin, TX. This is where we are planting our roots.

This is the first time we have lived our own, away from family.

Where my belly grew BIG! #okayikindamissit

Our first baby was born here!

This is where The Lord has called us and where we feel like we will be for a long, long time. It's crazy to me to think that this is where our sweet baby will say that is his hometown. I hope he loves it just as much as we do!

I had so much fun sharing my hometown(s) with you guys! Have a happy Tuesday, y'all! :)

Show & Tell Tuesday : Christmas Decor

Tuesday, December 8, 2015

Woohoo, it's my favorite Show & Tell Tuesday so far! I'm linking up with Andrea and today is all about Christmas decor, and when it comes to Christmas time, this is me, then entire month of December...
I'm pretty sure I'm Buddy the Elf.

First I'll share my super gaudy pink Christmas tree :) I've had this since I was probably a freshman in high school. I love this tree! Bless my sweet husbands heart for letting me still put this tree up every year! This tree sits in our dining room and has cute little food themed ornaments scattered about like donuts, ice cream cones and candies! It also has lots of girly ornaments as well as some cookie cutter ones too! Last year we put a chefs hat on top of the tree to top it off, but it somehow got lost in the move! Such a bummer :(

Now for our traditional tree. I shared a funny story about our tree last year in a previous blog post here. I promise you will get a good laugh out of it :) Anyway, we love our tree now! Blake and I (mostly Blake) made all of our ornaments! Besides a few that were gifts or homemade from when we were little! That little tree is one that my brother made whenever he was little! I love having homemade ornaments on the tree!

Now, this is probably my favorite decoration of them all. I think it's because it reminds me of my momma's house at Christmas time :) It adds so much to our cute little apartment and I just love it! My momma and I made it last year, and it's a decoration I look forward to putting up every year!
Now a few little decorations around the house :)
Cute chalkboard that my hubs did!
The only present under the tree so far! Blake stood out in the cold and pouring rain to get this for me on Black Friday. He asks me if I want to open it everyday and everyday I tell him no! (He is not good at keeping gifts from me & I actually like to be surprised!)
Love these cute little reindeer pillows!
One of my favorite corners of the kitchen :)
This little nativity scene is so old and was a gift to me from someone in my families old church whenever I was so young that I hardly even remember getting it! It was all handmade and painted in Israel and they brought it back for me! I remember putting it our every year as a child and being told the story of Jesus's birth. I can't wait to share this tradition with Judah!

In our house, we had a fireplace with a mantle and the majority of my decor was put up around the mantle. We don't have a fireplace or mantle in our apartment so I had to change up what I would have normally done with all of this decor! I think I like the way it turned out, but I might try something different next year :)
This side is still missing some garland & lights, but we have been too busy to think about getting more!

I love everything about Christmas time! The twinkling lights, family time, red and green glitter e v e r y t h i n g, the music, I could go on forever! It's important that we remember the true meaning of this magical holiday, that is Jesus! Here is a quote from a Christmas Bible study I've been doing.

"Being born isn’t what made Him a King. The Prince of Peace made Himself low, taking on flesh to be Immanuel, "God with us." The Maker became the Messiah. The Lion became the Lamb. The King of all became small to rescue His children and bring them home."

It's so important that we don't get so caught up in all the other good things that this season brings and that we remember the best gift of all this Christmas season.

Merry (early) Christmas, y'all!
