Fall Decor

Wednesday, October 5, 2016

Fall is a close second to my favorite time of the year (Christmas/Winter). I love any excuse to decorate for things and make trips to Hobby Lobby, so decorating for Fall is always a given. I'm excited to share some of my fall decor with y'all today!

All of the decor above is above our cabinets in our kitchen. Our floor plan is super open and so the kitchen and living room look right into each other. I do the majority of my decorating up there because you see it a lot! & in case you can't tell, we have a thing for scarecrows ;)

We kept our entryway simple with a few things and a candy corn bowl full of candy corn because my hubs is obsessed...haha!

Our love for scarecrows continues on our kitchen island. I saw this sign at Hobby Lobby this year and had to have it! We also had to add a third scarecrow to our bunch this year :)

Of course our coffee bar is filled with #allthepumpkinspice
& yes, we have an old school coffee pot! I drink way too much in a day to have a Keurig!

I am obsessed with banners so naturally this is one of my favorite parts of our Fall decor. It's tucked away in the corner of our dining room which you can see right as you walk in our door. I love it! Thank you Target dollar spot!

As excited as I am about all of our fall decor and my house smelling like a giant pumpkin marshmallow, I can't wait to decorate for Christmas!! I've been singing Christmas songs in my head since December 26th of last year so you can say I'm a little excited...but for now, it's all things Fall!

Show & Tell Tuesday | Hometown Edition

Tuesday, March 8, 2016

Today I'm linking up with Andrea and we are talking all about our Hometowns! I never know what to say when people ask me "Where are you from??". I always have 3 answers...

My first answer is always Cushing, TX. An extremely small town in east Texas. The population is somewhere around 608, and there is one blinking stoplight in town. Pretty  much the only thing Cushing is known for is the small, but very yummy, cafe in downtown called 7th Street.

I lived in Cushing from the time I was born until I was about 6. #checkouthosecurls

I have a lot of memories of playing on my Grandparents land there, feeding the chickens, horses, cows and goats, waking up to the rooster crowing on the front porch every morning (no, I'm not kidding), and so much more. My whole family lived there, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and siblings. A lot of my family has moved, mostly to the Dallas area, and others close by. I still have a few siblings that live close to Cushing, my grandpa still lives there, and my Aunt does too. We visit often.

My second answer is always, Lake Dallas. When I was around 6 years old, my family moved to the Dallas area, Lake Dallas to be more specific. This is where I grew up and where I have the majority of my memories. The population there is somewhere around 7,000+. This was a BIG change from the small town we were use to! We grew to love it. This is what I consider my real hometown!!

This is where I made so many memories, all mostly good! I had the time of my life in high school here. My high school experience was one of the best. Sure, there were awkward times, but I really did have so much fun!

I made some of the best friends here. We don't all keep in touch anymore, but I have some of the best memories of my life growing up with them!

Some of my very best friends still live in my hometown! #imissyouguys

Lake Dallas is a football town. It's huge and the whole town comes to the games.

I spent my Friday nights at the games too, in my white boots and sparkly skirt.

I was on the dance/drill team all throughout high school. My life pretty much revolved around dance all 4 years. It was much like a sisterhood! When I think of my hometown so many memories from those 4 years come to mind.

I also found an incredible church family here. God blessed me so much with all the people there that mentored me, held me accountable, and taught me. We still, to this day, miss them all dearly, but love where God has called us to now! #pleasedontmakefunofmysunglasses #iwas17

My hometown is also where I met and fell in love with this handsome guy!

It's where we got engaged.

Where we got married.

Where we lived in our very first house together.

And where we started our family.

Now, my third (and sometimes first) answer is Austin, TX. This is where we are planting our roots.

This is the first time we have lived our own, away from family.

Where my belly grew BIG! #okayikindamissit

Our first baby was born here!

This is where The Lord has called us and where we feel like we will be for a long, long time. It's crazy to me to think that this is where our sweet baby will say that is his hometown. I hope he loves it just as much as we do!

I had so much fun sharing my hometown(s) with you guys! Have a happy Tuesday, y'all! :)

Friday Favorites - Nursery Tour Edition

Friday, December 18, 2015

Happy Friday, y'all! I have been totally slacking on writing lately because life has been BUSY! Our little guy could be here any day now so we have been preparing for that and also resting up before he gets here!

Today I'm back and as usual, I'm linking up with  Narci, Andrea, and Erika for some Friday Favorites!

Today is going to be all about Judah's nursery! It's easily becoming my favorite room in the house. There are so many things I love about it and I have so many favorites to share with y'all from his room! Grab your coffee and enjoy :)
This is just as you walk in the room, please excuse the unmade guest bed, we have been washing sheets and getting the bed ready for our next guests!
One of my favorite little corners in his room is this one because of the books! I love books!
Fun little blanket/stuffed animal basket filled with handmade blankets from family members :) Another favorite!!
And our bags waiting by the door! All packed and ready to go! Whenever you're ready, bud :)
Fun little gallery wall. Thank you, Hobby Lobby!
His sweet little crib! Not completely finished yet, but I still love it :)

Handmade arrows made by my sweet hubs!
Another handmade blanket from Blake's Aunt! It's so soft.
I want one for myself ;)

Stuffed animals for Judah from Granddad :)
Where I'll rock my sweet baby to sleep! Blake was rocked in
this rocking chair when he was a baby! If you can't tell, sentimental
things with meaning are my favorite!!
Adorable painting from our friend, Liz!

Just a few more details!
And just the cutest little clothes that I can't wait to dress my boy in!
That's our little guy's nursery! We are so ready to meet him and bring him home to this room! So many memories will be made in here, we cannot wait!!

I wish you all a happy Friday and have a great weekend!!
