Weekend Recap | Surprise Anniversary Trip Edition

Tuesday, September 6, 2016

Blake and I celebrated 2 years of being married on Sunday and he surprised me with a little anniversary trip!
Sidenote: All glory to God for these past 2 years of marriage. He has been WAY too good to us and has taught us so much. These past 2 years have been fun, challenging, sweet, and have been 2 of the best years of my life. We are by no means perfect, but are sitting under a cloud of grace from our Father and each other and strive to please Him daily. Thank you Jesus for good, good, gifts.
So, Saturday Blake told me to pack a light bag for myself and Judah because he had a surprise planned for us. I obliged (obviously) and I was SO excited. If you follow me on snapchat (ElishaKelch) or if you know Blake, then you know he always spoils surprises and gives gifts early. I love to be surprised so I was shocked when he didn't give this surprise away! (He gave me my gifts early, a new Kendra Scott necklace and an LA Dodgers hat!)
We headed out Sunday after church and we ended up at the Omni Hotel in Downtown Dallas! I had mentioned that I wanted to stay there sometime for a "special occasion" and Blake remembered. I was so excited! He booked the nicest room I have ever seen and I was swooning over all the windows and pretty views of Downtown Dallas. Oh, and the chocolate covered strawberries and sparkling cider (we don't drink) waiting on us when we got to our room!

Blake's grandparents watched Judah for us so we could have an evening to ourselves.
 I. Did. Not. Know. What. To. Do. With. Myself.

We had dinner plans but other than that we just got to rest. It was so nice to get to actually sit down with Blake and watch a movie with no interruptions and be able to take my time getting ready for dinner, not having to pack a diaper bag, etc.

We got ready and headed out to Hopdoddy Burger Bar for dinner. Love my handsome guy :)
The garlic parmesan truffle fries were SO good and so was the stout chocolate shake. YUM!!
We headed back to the hotel and got our comfy clothes on and decided we missed Judah too much so we threw on the complimentary slippers and went and got our baby!
Judah also turned 8 months old on Sunday so we joked that we were celebrating his 8 month birthday at the Omni...spoiled rotten!
We ordered room service, hello yummy cookies. #myweakness
& then we got some much needed sleep! Woke up in the prettiest hotel room(that view!!) and got ready for a day of grilling out and swimming with family!
Before heading out we had to stop by and take a picture with the BIG letters!
Our boy is getting so BIG and God has BIG plans for Blake and I in this next year(or 100 years) of marriage! So thankful for these guys and I love doing life with them!

Weekend Recap

Monday, November 23, 2015

Happy Monday, friends! This is me this Monday...except I'm in a slightly less chic outfit (leggings & a tunic, no makeup, & fuzzy socks) but the coffee is totally correct.

We had a pretty lazy weekend over here at The Kelchs! We are taking in all the "us" time and rest we can before our sweet boy gets here!

My Friday started off with a big bowl of Fruity Pebbles, because sometimes you just need a big bowl of unhealthy, colorful cereal.
I let Blake sleep in a bit because he didn't have to work Friday! So once he was up and moving around, we got out and ran a few errands and enjoyed some Chipotle.
Later that night, we went over to our friends house to help them decorate their tree and have a game night! They said to dress comfy, so of course we wore our Christmas jammies!
We attempted to play Scene It?  but all of the movies ended up being pretty old so we played some really  fun card games!! It was such a fun night :)
Saturday morning coffee in my Christmas jammies. So cozy!
Saturday was the first really cold day we have had and I was so anxious to get outside! (I know, I'm crazy) I can't reach my feet these days...how sweet is this guy for helping me put on shoes on?? A simple gesture but it means so much to this preggo that can't reach her feet! We headed out to go to my favorite place, Target, and Blake's favorite place, Guitar Center.
He could spend all day in here, y'all. I don't mind because how handsome does he look with that guitar?? I'm one lucky girl...

We had to make a pit stop by Chickfila because I was so thirsty! Then I realized that they had their peppermint shake back and got that instead...oops. Also, when they accidentally give you a large, you don't complain. Yum!
Then we just killed more time and walked around this little shopping center near us, in the cold, because we are crazy. ha! In case you couldn't tell, I really love the cold. I told Blake that I should be Elsa...because the cold never bothered me anyway. That might have been all the sugar from the peppermint milkshake talking...haha.
We spent the rest of the night at home, Blake made dinner and we watched lots of football.
Sunday we woke up and went to church!

Pastor preached such a good message on "Remembering the Taste". It was all about remembering the taste of God's goodness and grace through the tough times in your life and being thankful in those times. I was weepy so many times throughout his sermon just remembering what The Lord has brought me through in my life and being so thankful for where he has brought me to today! I have so much to be thankful for this year and I can't think about it without the tears flowing. God is so good, y'all!
We ate lunch and then took a good 'ole Sunday nap all while dinner cooked in the crockpot. We watched the music awards and had lots of snuggles! (Carrie was my favorite, because duh.

That was our weekend! We have a short week ahead of us before we head back home for to spend Thanksgiving with our families. Be looking out for a little baby update tomorrow and have a wonderful Monday!

Also, I'm linking up with this lady today!

Show & Tell Tuesday : A Day in the Life

Tuesday, November 3, 2015

Hey y'all! Happy November!
Today I'm linking up with Andrea for Show and Tell Tuesday! This week is "A Day in the Life".

I thought, what better day to do "A Day in the Life" than on Halloween?? So I documented our whole Saturday with pictures. How fun!

After I woke up and took a shower, I started on washing some dishes. I knew that I would be cooking quite a bit that day so I needed to start fresh with a clean kitchen!

Blake had a lunch with the band from church up in North Austin (we live very south-west) so he had to leave a little early to make it there on time. So I made myself a smoothie and did my quiet time.

Then I dried/folded some clothes and washed some sheets, what joy.

Later, I took a little break and heated up my leftovers from Olive Garden the night before and watched some Food Network, because duh.

I sent the hubs out for some last minute ingredients for the pasta salad & pumpkin cookies I was making for that night. He sent me this text and I immediately got so nervous that the stores were ALREADY out of pure pumpkin! I always forget to stock up on it once the holidays start because it goes so fast! Luckily, he found it :)

The hubs finally made it back home and I started to get ready. My hair is naturally curly, so blow-drying it and straightening it is such a chore. It takes me a good while. So Blake started boiling the pasta for me so it could have some time to cool :)

I finally got finished with my hair/makeup and started on making the pasta salad & cookies! All while wearing my pumpkin socks, of course :)

I mixed up the 1 can of pumpkin with 1 box of spice cake mix, added in some mini chocolate chips, and started baking the cookies! (350 for 12 minutes, so easy, y'all!) While they baked, I worked on the pasta salad.

Once we were finished with the cooking, we had a little time to kill before heading to our friends house for the night so we decided to Face Time my parents! They had been out shopping for Judah all day so we got to see some of the cute stuff they got him :)

Then we headed to our friends house for the night! With goodies, of course :)

They had a table set up in their driveway that we sat at and gave candy to the trick-or-treaters! It was a beautiful night so we even enjoyed eating outside. But first, we had to go trick-or-treating ourselves! I guess technically, their boys trick-or-treated and we just followed and enjoyed the weather :)
We also played Halloweengo! My friend, Jaci, found this fun little game to play while the trick-or-treaters came by! It's just like bingo, you just cross off whichever Halloween costumes you see! We all got pretty competitive, and of course, Blake won!

We headed home later that night and it hit me that this was our last Halloween as just "us two"! We snuggled into bed and watched some Netflix and enjoyed our last Halloween before Judah gets here. Next year will look so different, and we are SO excited for it! Even though Judah won't be able to eat the candy next year, we can still take him trick-or-treating right?? Momma & Daddy need candy too... :)
I love this goofy guy :)

That's it for my super exciting "A Day in the Life"!

Have the best day :)
