My Forever Valentine

Sunday, February 15, 2015

I just have to brag on my sweet husband for a minute. He planned out the most wonderful Valentines Day ever! He is the most thoughtful person I know and he understands how much little moments and their significance mean to me! I couldn't have asked for a better day.
He took me to the Arboretum where he proposed to me almost a year ago. We walked the same path that led me to him on the day he proposed and had a picnic!

Oh, and of course we people watched! We kept trying to pick out couples that looked like they were going to get proposed to but we were unsuccessful :(

But seriously, the weather on Saturday was i n s a n e l y beautiful! Sunny and 75! We didn't want to leave our little picnic spot!
Next we went to the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM. I want to meet the person that came up with this completely genious idea and personally thank them! I mean, how cool is it that you can get cupcakes from an ATM?! So cool.

Blake got Salted Caramel and I got Red Velvet and they were delicious!

The Lord has truly blessed me with the most incredible husband I could ever imagine. He is everything I've always prayed for and more. He shows me love just as Christ loves His church daily, and not just on this one silly little, candy filled, holiday. I couldn't be more thankful.

Here's to many, many more!

Tell someone you love them today!

Out With The Old

Wednesday, February 11, 2015

I am so excited to finally share some pictures from our little bathroom "renovation" from Saturday!

Blake and I have been watching so much Fixer Upper on HGTV. Chip and Joanna are probably our favorite people right now! Can we just talk about how cute they are for a second?? I can't deal. They are some seriously talented people.

Blake loves to build just about anything. He's also super talented but won't admit it :) He made the majority of all of our signs for our wedding and has done so much to improve our little house already! He's my very own handy man!

So the combination of too much Fixer Upper on our tv and Blake just itching to do something with his hands, he suggested Friday at 3 in the afternoon that we renovate our bathroom! So with a little convincing and a promised trip to Hobby Lobby (my favorite place ever) after Home Depot (Blakes equivalent to my Hobby Lobby) I said yes!

We decided on paint colors, a theme, and some DIY stuff we really wanted to do!

Side note: We got the big can of paint for 9 dollars in the "oops aisle" at Home Depot! It ended up being a little bit more blue than we wanted but we still love it!

This is what we ended up getting.

So here's the before!

And here's the after!

I love love love how much brighter everything is! It makes it a little bit more enjoyable to wake up to so early in the morning. Our towels were a gift from my aunt that does embroidery. I love them! Unfortunately the colors we picked for our bathroom when we first got married changed so now all we need is some matching towels and the room is complete :)

Also I stink at taking panoramic pictures so sorry for the random black stuff in the picture :)

We got the wooden crates at Walmart for 12 dollars. They were just unfinished wood so I painted them a grey color to match our 2 grey walls in the bathroom. They are my favorite part of the bathroom I think! I'm currently obsessed with all things crates!

We got this little piece of decor at Kirklands for only 6 dollars! What a steal.

This square wooden cut out is from Hobby Lobby! On sale for 12 dollars. We have a bunch of these little tin pails left over from our wedding so I just got a few flowers and made an arrangement to go inside the pail!

So there's our little mini renovation to our bathroom! There's still a few things we would like to do but those will come in time. Granite countertops, paint the cabinets white, and little stuff here and there! But we love it how it turned out!
