What we're eating this week:
Monday Blake made a yummy dinner of balsamic chicken, mashed potatoes and broccoli/green peas! Then to top that off, he made delicious blooming apples with a scoop of Bluebell on top. Last night I made homemade pizza! I'll be sharing this recipe on my foodie blog soon, once I perfect it :) Tonight we are having our Trunk or Treat at our church and have to be there early to set our trunk up! (Pictures coming soon) They are having food there so we will eat whatever they have. As for the rest of the week, we probably won't decide till the day of :)
What I'm reminiscing about:
I was looking through old pictures and came across these of Blake and I last year at the pumpkin patch! It's so cool to look at these pictures of us as newlyweds, and now this year I have a little pumpkin in my belly! Bring on all the emotions...
I'm also reminiscing about our Halloween costumes from the past couple of years! We really love to dress up for Halloween and always make our costumes.
Two years ago we were caveman & cavewoman.
Last year we were Rapunzel & Flynn Rider!
What I'm loving:
If you don't already know, we are apart of a ministry here in Austin called Continuum Ministries. It's a college/young adult gathering that meets every Tuesday night at 9pm. We meet together and worship and dig into God's Word. It has been such a blessing being apart of this ministry so far and we have loved seeing the fruit come from it already! Last night we baptized three people! It was such an awesome experience and we are so blessed to be apart of it.
If you're in the Austin area and are free on Tuesday nights, come check us out! We would love to have you :)
What we've been up to:
We have been crafting a lot this week to get ready for our Trunk or Treat! Here's a little hint of what we are going to be going as this year...
What I'm dreading:
This weather. I'm ready for it to actually feel like fall around here! I need the highs to be in the low 60's. Come on, ATX. Get with it.
What I'm working on:
We have been kicking things into gear and getting Judah's nursery ready! Read yesterdays post here to see some pictures of it so far.
What I'm excited about:
We have another baby shower coming up in a few weeks which means we get to travel back to Denton and see family & friends! I'm pretty excited about that. Also I'll be taking maternity pictures that weekend and that's pretty exciting :)
What I'm watching/reading:
I just started watching Parenthood today! I always hear people talk about how good it is so I decided to find out of myself! It's pretty good so far. My parents also got Blake and I hooked on another show on Netflix called Longmire. We are already on season 4 and almost finished with it...oops.
All I have been reading lately is my Bible! I am still going through the studies with She Reads Truth. I recently read Jen Hatmakers book For the Love and I really enjoyed it. I really love the way she writes! She is so engaging and very funny. Go pick up a copy and read it, especially you momma's out there!
What I'm listening to:
I don't listen to much music by choice, so whatever Blake puts on is what I listen to! Most of the time it's him playing the guitar, I know, so dreamy :)
What I'm wearing:
Right now, sweatpants and a t-shirt, because this belly of mine is getting bigger everyday and sweatpants are more comfortable than anything else :) But when we have to go out, I'm loving pulling out my scarves (even though it's not that cold yet) and pairing them with a tunic or a tank and my favorite chambray shirt! That's about as dressed up as I get these days.
What I'm doing this weekend:
Saturday we are going to our friends house and spending Halloween trick-or-treating with them and their littles! Then Sunday we have church. I'm hoping to get more of Judah's nursery done as well!
What I'm looking forward to next month:
I'm not the biggest fan of Thanksgiving food, but I love spending the holiday with family! We will travel back to Denton for Thanksgiving and then after that I won't be allowed to travel until after the baby is born. So I'm really looking forward to going and spending that time with family and then having them come stay with us in December! Oh, and how could I forget! I'm so looking forward to decorating for Christmas, the day after Thanksgiving of course.
What else is new:
I think I've just about covered it all!
What's your favorite Thanksgiving recipe:
Mmmm, my momma's apple pie recipe is my favorite. It's all from scratch and I'll be making it soon and sharing it on my foodie blog!
That's what's up with us this Wednesday! Can't wait for next month :)
Make it a great day!
I love your pumpkin patch pictures! And how fun to be getting a nursery together. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! It has been so much fun :) I've heard so much about Beth Moore's Children of the Day bible study, I need to pick up a copy!
DeleteLove your costume pictures!!!! We love Parenthood and I cried in almost every episode lol. Such a good show! Love your Trunk or Treat decorations!! Our church's Trunk or Treat got cancelled because of the rain this past weekend, so sad!
ReplyDeleteOh no! That is such a bummer! We had such a good time at our last night! I'm already getting so attached to Parenthood! It's just as good as everyone said. Thank you! Love your blog!
DeleteOh my gosh this post was so fun to read! It must be so cool for you to look back on newlywed photos to knowing you're soon to be a mama!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I participated in our church's trunk or treat last year and it was such a fun night! It was such a fun way to connect with the community!
Question for you, I'm in the market for a new bible study for my morning quiet time, do you have any suggestions on ones you've read in the past or any favorites you may have?
Thanks so much and happy Wednesday!
I love love love Savor by Shauna Niequist! It's kind of like Jesus Calling but better I think :) She has devotions for every day of the year plus yummy recipes! You should check it out!! http://shaunaniequist.com/project/savor/
DeleteI also really love the She Reads Truth Studies. Some of my favorites of theirs are the Ruth study, Hebrews study, and both the Women in The Word studies are incredible! They have all of their available studies online on their website (http://shereadstruth.com/plans/). You can also order books if you would rather follow along with a book instead of on your computer :) Hope this was helpful! Your blog is adorable and congrats on being married!! It's such a wonderful gift from The Lord!
Your pictures from the pumpkin patch are so fun! You guys have had some great costumes!!
