Judah Beau's Baby Shower

Wednesday, October 14, 2015

We celebrated our sweet little guy this weekend with family and friends at his first baby shower! My mom planned this whole shower with little help from others and she did such a good job. I just wanted to brag on her creativity and how cute this little shower was!

Cute little clothesline that she put together. How cute are those jammies in the middle?? Love them!

Some fun decor with Judah's big fox! On the right is a book called Charlie and the New Baby. Ree Drummond, my favorite lady on The Food Network, wrote this book about her dog, Charlie! I had no idea that she wrote children's books and my momma surprised me with this one for Judah! She has many others about her cute little dog Charlie, so all you mommas out there, go check them out!!

Our gift/guestbook table. We had everyone sign a book that we would be reading to Judah for many years instead of just a silly piece of paper! My friends Rachel shared this idea with me and I just loved it :)

My momma made this cake, y'all. How adorable is it?? I showed her a picture off Pinterest and she made it look even better than the picture I showed her! She loves making cakes and is so talented. One day we will open a baking shop :)

She also made these cute little desserts! The first picture is Hersey's Kisses & Mini Vanilla Wafers made to look like acorns! The second picture is LifeSaver Mints and Mike & Ikes made to look like little pacifiers. So cute.

My momma and I :)
Me and my Dad comparing our bellies :)

Blake was a little excited about our baby carrier! What a handsome Daddy :)
My sweet nephew photobombed our picture. Such a cutie :)
Also, this dress and scarf will be on repeat all fall. The dress is so comfortable and the scarf is so soft!
Dress is from H&M and you can get it here. It also comes in grey and teal!
Scarf is from Nordstrom and you can get it here. It comes in 6 different colors, mine is taupe.

 Some of the outside decor.

We made these party favors the night before and I really loved how they turned out! Just lightly salted popcorn, caramel drizzle and light blue vanilla candy melts. I made this graphic, then we printed and cut them out. They tasted pretty yummy too :)

Be looking out this Friday for a Friday Favorites post! I'm looking forward to sharing some of my favorite products with you :)

27 Weeks

Wednesday, October 7, 2015

We are 27 weeks this week with our little man! He is as big as a bunch of bananas & such an active little guy! My favorite thing to do right now is lay down at the end of the day and just watch him move around! He is making such big movements now and is responding to our voices and light. Blake talks to him and he just kicks and kicks :)

We moved this past Monday and are getting all settled in at our new home in Austin! I love everything about it and I'm so anxious to get his nursery ready for him. Here's a few little sneak peeks at some of my favorite spots in my new kitchen :)

How far along? 27 weeks & 2 days

Sleep? I was having the hardest time sleeping last week! I would wake up around 4am and not go back to sleep until around 7am. It was miserable. I am not a nap advocate (at least not for adults), I hate taking naps! To me its a waste of my day and I a l w a y s wake up grumpy. But last week, I napped almost every day, by choice. Now that we are moved into our new place, I have been sleeping like a baby! I didn't wake up one time last night. Thank The Lord for rest :)

Symptoms? Lots of pain from my belly growing! Oh, and is nesting considered a "symptom" of pregnancy? If so, I've got it bad! Moving while 7 months pregnant has its pro's, like nesting and having almost all your boxes unpacked by day 2 :)

Cravings? I ran into some sweet girls from our old youth group before we moved and they asked me what I was craving, I jokingly said "water" but once I thought about it, it was true! The only thing I have consistently wanted throughout my pregnancy has been water, and lots of it! Blake will ask me what I want for dinner some nights and I'll just say water! Everyone assumes I'm craving something specific but I never really am. Just give me all the water!

Miss anything? Our family and friends. Moving away from home has a different feeling when you're married. I'm constantly comforted by the fact that I have Blake here with me. I moved away once before, on my own, to go to college. I was so homesick. I remember feeling alone for a long time. My walk with Christ grew tremendously throughout that time because I learned that He is always there when I feel alone, and can wrap me up in His arms and comfort me through scripture. Now that Blake and I are married and moved away together, I still have that comfort that God is right here with us through every step, and that has made this move so much easier. That doesn't mean missing our family and friends goes away, but it makes it bearable. Side Note: Family and friends, you are welcome anytime and we want you to visit us, like, a lot :)

Gender? Boy boy boy :)

Names? Judah Beau. Our friends and family have already started giving him nicknames! Beau-Beau, JB, Beau (Blake loves this because his whole family goes by their middle names. He wants Judah to as well, but we will see) and we call him Judah Bug & little stinker pretty often. They also like to flow his first and middle names together like it's one word, this one is pretty funny and I wish I had a clip of our friend Liz saying it to share with y'all, but you'll just have to use your imagination.

Best part of this last week? Getting moved and having my parents come with to help! I'm super close to my family and I couldn't imagine doing this move without them. I'm so thankful for my momma and daddy! I also love our new home. I can't wait until its all finished so I can share it with y'all!

What you're looking forward to: We have our first doctors appointment with our new OB next week and I'm so anxious to meet her! We also have our first baby shower this weekend and I can't wait for that :)

Verse you're leaning on this week:

We are experiencing so much change at one time and this verse is so comforting through it all. Our world around us is changing but Jesus is not! He is our only constant and I'm so thankful for that.

Y'all enjoy your Wednesday & have a great rest of your week!

Happy Friday, y'all! We have been so crazy busy with this whole moving process so I apologize for the lack of posts! I'll be back Monday with a baby update for y'all! Amber is a blogger that I started following at the beginning of my pregnancy. She was also pregnant at the time with her third little girl, and she also has twin girls! She, a lot like Shay, blogs about family, food, fun, fashion, etc. She also does it all! I have loved following her blog and I know it will continue to help this new momma along her journey!
