Friday Favorites - Blogger Edition

Thursday, October 1, 2015

Happy Friday, y'all! We have been so crazy busy with this whole moving process so I apologize for the lack of posts! I'll be back Monday with a baby update for y'all! Side note; I'll be blogging that from our new home in Austin, TX! We will miss our family and friends so much but we are so looking forward to this new adventure :)

I'm taking a small break from the stress of packing and sharing some of my favorite bloggers with y'all! I'm excited to be starting up this Friday Favorites- Blogger Edition and share with y'all some of my favorite bloggers one Friday of every month! I hope y'all will look forward to it, too!

1. Shay over at Mix and Match Mama.

This lady is the reason I started my blog! I have followed her blog for a long time now and made tons of her yummy recipes! She loves Jesus, has the cutest little family, and basically, I just want to be her friend. She blogs about family, food, fun, fashion, etc. She does it all, y'all. Follow her on Instagram @mixandmatchmama

2. Emily over at The Sweetest Thing.

If I ever wanted to go into fashion blogging, I would want to be just like Emily. She is so beautiful not only on the outside, but even from not knowing her, you can tell she is genuine and beautiful on the inside too. Every time she posts a new look, I immediately want to go find it or find pieces to recreate it! And not to mention, she has the cutest golden doodle ever, Fitz. Follow her on Instagram @emilyanngemma

3. Amber over at The Massey Spot.

Amber is a blogger that I started following at the beginning of my pregnancy. She was also pregnant at the time with her third little girl, and she also has twin girls! She, a lot like Shay, blogs about family, food, fun, fashion, etc. She also does it all! I have loved following her blog and I know it will continue to help this new momma along her journey! Side note: her hair, i love it y'all. If I ever left the blonde side, I would totally go for her look! Follow her on Instagram @masseya

4. Amanda over at Little Southern Life.

Amanda is so sweet! I have been following her blog for almost a year now and I have loved it! She has the sweetest little southern family and she is so relatable. She blogs mostly about lifestyle, fashion, and healthy living/food! Also, she is the owner of Sweet Tea Jewels, a jewelry company with everything from earnings to bangles. Y'all, her bangles are my favorite. Go order you some asap. Follow her on Instgram @littlesouthernwife

Y'all go subscribe to these ladies blogs & follow them on Instagram too!

Have a happy Friday!

Fall Goals

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

Today is officially the first day of fall and it's still 90 degrees in Texas. I'm just going to pretend like its cloudy outside, 57 degrees and light all my pumpkin and cinnamon scented candles until Texas decides to get with the program!

I've noticed so many people making "Fall Bucket Lists" for this fall so I thought I'd hop on the bandwagon and make some goals for this fall!

Here's our list for this October-November.

I'll be blogging about what we cross off our list as we go through this pretty season. This season of life is already bringing big changes for us Kelchs and we are so excited to see what God has in-store!

1. Go to the State Fair - This was Blake's number 1 request so far! We go to the State Fair every year so even though we are pretty busy with packing, we will definitely make time to go eat some fried goodies!

2. Decorate for fall - Yes, I know I'm behind. Don't worry, I'm sad about it too! As soon as we move to Austin at the beginning of next month, our house will be as Fall as Fall can get! I can't wait to put up our decor :)

3. Go to a pumpkin patch - We went to a pumpkin patch last year and we had so much fun! I just love walking and looking at the pumpkins and taking goofy pictures. Here's a few from our trip last year!

4. Carve Pumpkins - Last year, I didn't carve a pumpkin! I think I painted one instead. So this year I definitely want to carve one! Blake is like scary good at carving pumpkins so I'm going to have to get him to help me out :)

5. Enjoy a pumpkin spice latte - I can check this one off because I had my first PSL of the season! I haven't had coffee at all since I found out I was pregnant (personal choice). But today I couldn't resist a good decaf PSL. I almost cried tears of joy.

6. Make an apple pie - Apple Pie is one of Blake's favorite desserts. I have a really funny story about the first time I tried to make him one and seriously failed. It's pretty funny, so if you see me, feel free to ask about the burnt apple pie that I threw on the back porch! I've finally (almost) mastered my families recipe for homemade apple pie and I plan on making lots of them this fall :)

7. Take maternity pictures - I am SO excited for this one! I love that I'm going to be in my last trimester during the fall/winter. Judah's room theme is Adventure/Woodland so what better time to take maternity pictures than in the fall! My sweet and talented friend, Liz over at http://www.izzyclarkphotography.com will be taking my pictures and we couldn't be more excited!

8. Bake pumpkin bread - mmmm, how I love pumpkin bread! I have never made my own, because if I'm honest, my momma and grandma make the best! I'm going to see if I can make pumpkin bread that will be as good as theirs!

9. Make homemade apple cider - This one is for Blake to do! (shh, don't tell him!) He makes the best homemade apple cider and I'm going to have him make it for us this fall :)

10. Host someone for dinner - If you know me at all, you know that I love hosting. If it were up to me, I would have people over for dinner parties every weekend. We are moving to a new city and that means making new friends! I'm excited to plan and host some people for dinner soon :)

11. Show more gratitude - Whether it be through a simple phone call, a letter, or a coffee date I want to try my best to show more gratitude this season, and carry it on into other seasons too! Starting each day with a grateful heart and then using the out pour of that to bless and be generous to others is a beautiful thing that we should all try and do more of!

I'm excited to share these goals with y'all as we go through them and just enjoy this fall season.

Happy Fall, y'all! Go treat yourself to a pumpkin spice latte and enjoy your afternoon :)

24 Weeks

Monday, September 14, 2015

We are 24 weeks today with little Judah! He is about the size of an eggplant and his taste buds are developing. He has been kicking like crazy lately and momma and daddy love it! We actually saw him move yesterday for the first time! He is just in there karate chopping away.

He gets pretty shy when anyone other than Blake tries to feel him move. He will be kicking away and then as soon as someone tries to feel him, he stops! Little stinker :)

Almost can't see my feet! My toes are about
the only thing I can see these days. Unless
Blake cooks a really yummy dinner, then my
feet magically disappear ;)
We already love our little guy so much and can't wait for him to be here!

Here's a little bumpdate for y'all!

How far along? 24 weeks

Sleep? Just in the past week I've noticed myself getting more and more tired. Also, sleeping through the night is a very rare occurrence. Judah likes to kick a lot all through the night and it often wakes me up! But I guess that's a pretty good reason :)

Symptoms? Back pain is real, y'all.

Cravings? I'm still wanting milk pretty regularly. I haven't had a craving that has lasted through my whole pregnancy! Just lots of random ones. This week it was steamed green beans and cheese fries...oops :)

Miss anything? Being able to sleep on my stomach!

Gender? Boy boy boy :)

Names? We are sticking with Judah Beau!

Best part of this last week? Blake and I have been able to spend so much time together this past week and that has been so nice! Even in the busy seasons of life God provides that time you need with one another and I'm very thankful for that.

What you're looking forward to: I know we still have a while, but I can't wait to hold our little guy!

Verse you're leaning on this week: I don't really have a specific verse for this week but really just the story of Abraham stuck out to me so much as we were going over it yesterday in Sunday school. We were just reflecting on how God provides even when we can't see it coming. God told Abraham to sacrifice his son and without even questioning God, Abraham prepared to do so. The angel of The Lord called out to Abraham and told him to not even lay a hand on his son, because of his great faith and obedience to God.Then The Lord provided a ram for Abraham to sacrifice instead of his son. Abraham was faithful and obedient to God and God was faithful and provided for Abraham! One of the first questions one of my good friends asked me when we told her we were expecting was, "Now, how do you view God sending his son to die on the cross for us?" I told her I had already thought of that and that I could not imagine having to give up our one and only little boy for a bunch of sinners like me. I don't think I could do it, or do what Abraham did either. What great faith he had! His story has always been one of my favorites in The Bible, and it's awesome how God takes stories you have heard a million times and applies them to your life in the here and now. I'm thankful for a God who meets me where I am! All praise and glory to Him.
