18 Weeks

Wednesday, August 5, 2015

Long time, no see, friends! Life has been crazy busy lately so that explains the lack of posts. But we are back with a little update on our sweet baby!

I am 18 weeks this week and baby is the size of a sweet potato! I feel little flutters and kicks almost everyday but they aren't strong enough for daddy to feel them on my tummy yet! We still don't know gender, but we now have an appointment set for that and are SO excited to find out if we are having a little boy or girl!

How far along? 18 weeks & 2 days!

Sleep? Still not sleeping through the night but hey, I expected that. Finding positions that are comfortable to sleep in are getting harder & harder thanks to my growing belly!

Symptoms? Emotions have been running like crazy. I'm thankful for my sweet husband for putting up & comforting me with my random outbursts of crying! He's really been the best through all of this. Also I got sick over the weekend and had a little scare with my hypoglycemia, so that wasn't fun. Also, had my first couple of Braxton Hicks contractions this morning, so not fun!

Cravings? Ketchup with everything. Oh, and lately, ice cream!

Miss anything? Does cooler weather count?? The highs for this week are all above 102 and that just makes me want to pack my things and head North! Im ready for fall.

Gender? We find out August 18th! Eeeek! It can't come soon enough!

Names? Everyone will also find out August 18th :)

What you're looking forward to: Getting to see our baby at our gender appointment! We haven't had a ultrasound since I was 8 weeks so it's going to be so cool getting to see how much he/she has grown!

Verse you're leaning on this week?

Psalm 92:4 really spoke to me during my quiet time yesterday. There are times when you can get caught up in feelings and emotions and forget to praise God for His works! He is creating this baby inside me and it is only by Him that Blake & I get the opportunity to be parents to our sweet little blessing. He is entrusting a soul to us to bring up and teach in His ways, and for that I will sing for joy!

Thank y'all & God Bless!

15 weeks

Sunday, July 12, 2015

So I have realized that it is getting harder and harder to update every week! Between work, our busy schedule and needing rest I can't promise that I will update every week. Not much had changed during week 14 so I didn't feel the need to make a repetitive post :)

Now we are 15 weeks and baby (and mommas belly) are growing & growing! I jokingly say a lot that I don't know how my belly is going to get any bigger! It already just feels like it's going to pop. It's definitely different going through all the body changes but I'm reminded by this growing belly that there's a little life inside me that God has entrusted Blake and I with and then I'm thankful that my pants no longer button! (I never thought I'd say that)

But with all that to say, here's a little bumpdate!

How far along? 15 weeks tomorrow!

Sleep? I hardly sleep through the night anymore. I'm a belly sleeper so it has been hard to adjust to sleeping on my side!

Symptoms? Well, I thought my morning sickness went away. I was wrong. It's still around but not as full force as it was.

Cravings? More recently it has been sweet stuff, to my surprise. Fruit and sherbet.

Miss anything? Sleep for the most part. This past week was rough but I'm praying for a better week!

Gender? We find out in August! Still almost positive it's a boy, but I'm feeling like we might be surprised with a little girl!

Names? We decided that we will announce the name when we announce the gender. 5 more weeks!

What you're looking forward to: Meeting our sweet little nugget. We still have a long way to go but are so anxious to hold our baby!

Verse you're leaning on this week: 2 Chronicles 20:12. I was flipping through my bible this past week and while looking for where I was at in my quiet time I stumbled upon this page that was marked with a little page flag that I didn't remember putting there. So I stopped and started reading and it was exactly what I needed. Funny how God does that. The verse that stood out to me specifically says "Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you." This past week was harder physically than the others, I was sick everyday and most nights, I wasn't sleeping well and was just a little discouraged. I came across this and it reminded me that I'm not always going to have an answer, this sickness might not go away, I'm probably not going to sleep well for the next 5 or so months, but I need to keep my eyes on Jesus. He is protecting me and this sweet baby and I have to trust His plan, it's far better than anything I could come up with!

Have a wonderful week!

12 Week Bumpdate

Hello second trimester!

Our little nugget is as big as a ripe apricot this week and is starting to practice breathing.

We are already so anxious to meet our sweet baby! I'm trying to slow my anxious heart down and enjoy all these months. We got to hear the babies heartbeat yesterday at our doctors appointment and I have to hold my tears back every time! It's such a sweet and comforting sound.

This bumpdate is a few days late but better late than never right?
How far along? 12 weeks & 3 days

Sleep? It's getting harder and harder to get comfortable already. But I'm thankful for the sleep I do get!

Symptoms? My morning sickness has pretty much subsided. There's a few times during they day I feel dizzy and nauseous but not nearly as much as the 1st trimester.

Cravings? Canes sauce. Not really the chicken, just the fries and sauce. Oh, and p i c k l e s. All. The. Time.

Miss anything? Still sushi, coffee & tea. Someone bring me all 3 as soon as I have this sweet baby!

Gender? Still not sure but really thinking boy!

Names? Still not sharing :)
What you're looking forward to: Finding out the gender! We cannot wait to find out if we are having a little boy or girl.

Verse you're leaning on this week: Really all of Psalm 139. It's all so powerful and has been speaking to me so much this week! God knows everything about us, we can't hide from Him, and He made every part of us. That last part takes on a whole new meaning when verse 13 is going on inside of you.

I get so emotional when I think   about what all is really going on inside of my belly. As my grandma told me just a few days ago "only God could create something so intricate and beautiful". What she said has just been heavy on my heart because she is so right! Our baby started to form his/hers little heart at only 5 weeks. At 6 weeks he/she was forming little eyes and nose. At 7 weeks the baby's bones were hardening and during weeks 8 the baby starts to move! (Although I couldn't feel it yet) I could go on and on with these facts and how it all points to Jesus. He is the one doing and orchestrating all of this. How could I not praise Him and thank Him every minute of my life for this blessing He is pouring out over Blake and I! He is so, so good, y'all.
I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the sunshine and drink some tea for me!
